365, Days 262-269

I am so sorry for being completely, 100% useless with this blog.

July 13, Day 262:

My mother bought chairs for us and they finally came!  They look really good with our new table, I think.  Thanks, Mom :)

We look pretty tan in this picture, I think.  This is kind of a cop-out picture, I know, but it's cute I think.

We bought a new TV stand since ours is older and starting to buckle under the weight of the television.  But we're taking our sweet time setting it up because it looks like a pretty intense process.

Along with the picture of Rob's great-great-grandfather, we got metal replicas of his discharge papers, complete with his combat history and the awards he received.

We visited some of Rob's family.  His aunt has 4 pugs that were all running around and for some reason they were all flocking to Robbie.  There's another picture with all the pugs around him but I like this one because Blossom is perching on him.  The tan one is named Barney.

My new phone.  I know I love these close up-focused pictures, so please forgive my extensive use of them.  Rob said this picture was a very dramatic and epic cell phone picture.

We got this jade plant from a friend of ours and it's doing amazingly well.  Notice all the new sprouts.  I can only credit Robbie...I suck at taking care of plants.

365, Day 258-261.

So over the Fourth I got obliterated by a sunburn.  It was the worst I've ever had.  This is the result, horrible peeling multi-colored skin. I can't really feel bad for myself, though, since it really is my fault.

One of our plants began to flower unexpectedly.  I'm hoping they'll bloom fully at some point.

Rob and I have a thing with turtles, and therefore we tend to get lots of little turtle knick-knacks as gifts.  These two are from my mother and I just found them in all my stuff.

This is a picture of Rob's great-great-grandfather, who fought in the Civil War.  His dad gave me this picture so I could order a print and get it framed. Rob said he used to stare at it as a child and he thinks it influenced his decision to join the army, haha.

I found this dress at TJ Maxx for $20.  Too bad TJ Maxx is an hour away or I'd go there all the time...seriously, I love that store and I love this dress.

July 1, Day 250:

We put up shelves in our apartment (sorry this picture is crooked...the shelves aren't) and we gave one of them over to Army.  It's since changed---we took the glasses off and put a picture of Rob's squad in Iraq in a nice frame.  You can see his dogtags, Elizabeth, his unit coin, and the glasses that protected his eyes from flying rocks and such.

July 2, Day 251:

Rob finally got his stuff from Army.  Unfortunately we don't really have a place for it...so he stuck it in our hallway.  It's not the one we use so it's not too dangerous...but still, haha.  I'm glad he saved all his stuff from the Army, like boots and stuff. I decided that we'll hide it all when we have children so they don't get any ideas about joining, haha.

July 3, Day 252:

Here's my lovely sister Megan, with her two favorite alcoholic beverages. :)  She's not an alcoholic, my dad just made her a drink and she already had one...haha.  I thought it was a pretty funny sight anyway.

These are my cousins' kids all paddleboating together.  We laughed because they're lined up by height...I think someone remarked that it's like a Cingular commercial.

Rob's mother very kindly bought us new sheets and a new comforter.  They're quite nice. The reason for the clashing pillowcase is that it's my favorite pillow and I wanted to make sure I could always find it, haha.

I bought Rob this matryoshka doll in Russia.  The characters are from a really famous Russian cartoon series called Cheburashka.  From big to small, the characters are Cheburashka, Krokodil Gyena, Lyon Chondor, Shapoklyak, and Larisa.

We bought new plants!  I picked out the one on the left, it's called "Donkey's Tail" and will eventually be a hanging sort of plant.  The one on the right is unidentified as of now.

We got some more plants, both from a girl I work with and from my mother.   So here are a few that are in our office next to the giant mutant cactus.

We met my mother in Augusta on Saturday.  We parked and waited for her in front of the Old Navy...when we went to her car it turns out she had parked right next to Rob's car without realizing it.  I love coincidences, what can I say.

We FINALLY got a table.  A girl I work with is moving and she gave us this table for free.  It used to be a minty-green color and we decided that dark blue would go better with our kitchen.

We arranged our living room!  It looks pretty nice actually, I'm quite a fan. We're going to add more on the walls and stuff but this is a good start.

I have this weird fear where things that are underwater, but that shouldn't be underwater, freak me out. They always have...they remind me of bodies or something creepy and I do everything I can not to touch it.  Bizarre, I realize.  This bike is in the river that we've been swimming in, near our apartment.

His and hers pickles.  Rob bought Vlasic pickles, which I don't like...I only like Claussen pickles.  So we have our separate pickles :)

I realize this picture is kind of ugly because of the diesel stations...but the sunset was gorgeous.  You can't see it in this picture but there's smoke rising in the background.  The whole sky was orange...Rob said it felt like we were driving on Mars.  On another note I spent $48 at this gas station...sigh.

We just painted my old desk this blue color.  Kind of Fisher-Pricey but we love it.  Our office is our new prettiest room.

Yes, my boyfriend, at age 22 (almost 23) has a grey hair.  He would like me to tell you that this is the one gift the army gave him besides the bad back and a constant ringing in the ears.

Pretty storm clouds over the park where we were walking.  It's been so stormy here lately...super loud thunder and crazy lightning.  I love storms.

We went swimming at the river near our house...it was quite a bit of fun actually.  It was in the 80s and gorgeous, the water was the perfect temperature.  Simply glorious.

Pardon the lame picture.  I got this from the company I work for and we've been using it for picnics and stuff.  I haven't had a lunch bag in so long, haha.

We made this meal together...chicken, tortellini, bowtie pasta with pesto.  Rob loves this meal because his mother makes it for him sometimes.  It's pretty tastey.

This is Rob all cuddled up on the floor with the blanket that a lady at my old job made for me as a graduation gift :) He prefers the floor because it's cooler and he has absolutely no tolerance for heat.
